The beginning of Samurai Man! can be told in story-format. There was once a Trigonometry class. This class provided boredom, paper, and pencils. With this formerly-untested combination of materials, a comic was made. That's the story. But perhaps you have questions. Why is it so ugly? Don't you know how to use a scanner? Well, when I first made these comics, it was for myself on the top margin of a spiral-bound notebook. I started showing them to my friends, who demanded that I make more. I grew tired of passing my notebook around class, so I put it on a website. I told them that if they really cared, they would go to the website. The old website had three people visit daily. One was me, one was my mother. The comic is scanned badly and creased and margins are showing. Yes, I know. It's an artistic thing. Deal with it. And then eventually the story had to end. I'm sorry. I bet you're wondering what the comic looked like before I cleaned it up so well in post-production, aren't you? ZING! Anyway, this is a scan of the full page of my notebook that contained Samurai Man! #1. Notice the trigonometric concepts that led to the creation of the doodles that started number 1! Notice the erasures! Try to read my handwriting in my notes! The writer of Samurai Man! is Mage Macchione. Well, he's also the artist, but that's not very noteworthy. Anybody could do that. Some characters.
